Location : Point Pleasant, New Jersey ( northern Ocean County ) 1/2 mile from the Ocean.
Timestamp : Monday 8:00am (EST) 3/05/01
The sleet/rain mix we had overnight turned to mostly rain. Temps have risen from the 31-32 mark to 35.8 at this report.
A limited "State of Emergency" was posted late yesterday in anticipation of the bad weather and all State offices were closed with only essential personel needing to come in. Many local schools were also closed. Most of these were due to the anticiapted flooding and vol. evactuations posted yesterday, as some of these schools were used for shelters.
The weather at this point has not changed except for the sleet to rain. High tides continue to be a threat as well as rough waters and beach errosion.
This storm is expected to still organize off the New Jersey coast later today and tonight, When this occurs we are expected to get higher winds with gust over 50 + mph. Snow amounts are predicted to be around 4-6 " maybe higher....
