Finally, patience paid off. Rain arrived in Cape Coral, Florida at 2:47pm and did not abate until 5:45pm.
My rain guage measured 1.2 inches. We have not had rain since October. Thunder and lightning accompanied the rain but the weather was not severe. It was the steady type of rain good for soaking the ground; though we have moments of downpour. This is a beginning which we will take to reverse the dry conditions in this part of the state.
