Subject: Heavy Snow in the Seattle and Puget Sound Region
To: stormreport{at}weatherwatchers.org
Greetings all...this is my first posting to the CASI storm list...I
trust
the format is correct.
A rare winter storm event at surface level has dumped 2" to near a foot
of
snow in the Puget Sound area and into the Cascade Mountain foothills.
Snow
has been measured along the coast exceeding 4" in some locations, with
snowfall to 12"+ in the higher altitudes along the Cascade foothills.
Snow
continues to fall at sunrise, with additional amounts of 1" to 4" being
forecasted. A transition to rain is expected to begin in the Southern
Puget
Sound region by late morning with some areas expecting continuous light
to
moderate snowfall throughout the day. Gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range
are
causing some power outages as the heavy wet snow breaks weakened tree
limbs from recent wind events. Most major school districts are closed
with
severe problems found with surface transportation. There have been some
closures at SeaTac airport (5"+) for plowing, and occasional road
closures
in some of the Cascade passes for avalanche control.

when you do something,
you should burn yourself up completely,
like a good bonfire,
leaving no trace of yourself.
