Now, at 8:30, widespread thunderstorms have erupted over the LA basin
and valleys. It's going on even as I compose this email. This is
pretty rare for the area, and even hail is being reported. One of the
later Special Weather Statements cautions for hail accumulating up to 1
to 2 inches, with more heavy rain expected this evening for the next
couple hours. All in all, it's shaping up to be a pretty exciting
evening here in LA LA land.

Here are some storm totals just from last nights rain. Widespread 3-4
inches occurred, with some orographically favored locations receiving up

to 7 inches. In the mountains, up to 6 feet of snow was recorded.

Will send another message if the TStorms get real interesting here.
