If you read today's US Sitrep report, you will note that Fort Myers shared the nation's high with Brooksville at 87 degrees F. While there were clouds in the sky, no rain was evidenced, in sight, or forcasted. Drought conditions remain with the fire indexes for Charlotte, Lee, Glades , and DeSoto Counties staying very high over 600. Enforcement of strict water restrictions is vigorous, as we have a developing serious drinking water supply problem brewing. Charlotte County has serious problems due to the low levels of the Peace River. This is a continuing story which will develop further. Richard Macomber - Cape Coral, Fl (directly across from Fort Myers on the Caloosahatchee River).
