Jan. 10 — This winter’s heavy snow has set the
stage for the greatest risk of flooding in the
Northeast in three years, the National Weather
Service warned Wednesday. “This year all the
ingredients are in place — cold winter, lots of
snow and a potential storm with heavy
precipitation,” said Weather Service spokesman
Bob Chartuk.
The areas at greatest risk are in northern New Jersey,
northeastern Pennsylvannia and southern New
York,
including the Catskills area, said Chartuk.
