Howdy Y'all!!
It's Snowing!! It's Snowing!! Yipeeee!!!
I stayed home from work today, suffering from a migraine, and when I woke up
a little while ago--we had a blanket of snow on EVERYTHING!!! Looks like a
little more than an inch is already down, but it's still snowing to beat
60!! NWS says we may get upwards of 2 inches today. My barometer is up the
spout, and my local W'bug station says it's 26 degrees, 98% humidity, winds
SSE at 7 mph, making a windchill of 16 degrees and their barometer is at
29.63 and falling. It sure is pretty--guess it's the booby prize for having
missed the big one last weekend.
My in-laws in Princeton, NJ got 16 inches last weekend. They were happy
that they didn't have to shovel it, as their community has a service that
does that.
I can just hear my daughter in high school now--and all the other kids. No
word on early dismissals (yet), though--people in the DC Metro area just
cain't drive in this stuff, so should make for an interesting commute
tonight. Glad I'm home--need new tires on the front of the car, and I'm
happy not to need to drive in this--not that I'm afraid of driving in
snow--my 2nd Driver's Ed session was on the Beltway in snow--learned quickly
the right way to drive in snow. What does scare me are all the other idiots
in this area who CAN'T drive in it and who insist on doing the speed
limit--or more--and making their hail-Mary merges, and then wonder why
they've lost control of their car. Jason Breakiron and Steve Minghini can
back me up on that.
Now all I need is a fire in a fireplace (don't have a fireplace), a good
book (have that) and a cup of hot chocolate (have that, too). Hmmmm....see
y'all later!! :-D
