PORT LOUIS, Jan 5 (AFP) - A tropical cyclone sweeping through the
Indian Ocean was expected to come within a few hundred kilometres
(miles) of the island of Mauritius at the weekend, meteorologists said
on Friday. The cyclone was moving southwest toward Mauritius at
around 15 kilometres (10 miles) per hour, and was expected to pass
within 300 kilometres (200 miles) of the island on Saturday. As a
precautionary measure, Mauritius has been put on alert but activities
