Here in Columbus, Ohio we also had some vivid lightning when the rain was
changing over to snow at around 10 or 11 in the morning. I was (believe it or
not) on the golf course when the lightning started and ran like hell for the
club house. Luckily, I was only on the second hole. I knew it was comming
because I felt my mustache starting to tingle with static. I immediately got
away from my clubs and nealt down in the fairway. The lighning (by counting
the delay) was probably around 3-5 miles away. Pretty scary time, but I've
had closer calls on the course.
