Virginia, far eastern West Virginia, Maryland, far south central to far

The 24 - 48 hour precipitation forecast is calling for over 1 inch of
rainfall over portions of western
Washington, a portion of northwestern Oregon, the northeast 1/3 of
Connecticut, Massachusetts
except the southeast and far west areas, west southwest Maine, and New

NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS LEVEL I

CURRENT SITUATION:

New large fire activity was reported in the Eastern and Southern Areas.
Initial attack activity was
reported in Southern California, Northern California, Eastern and Southern
Areas. Very high fire
indices were reported in California and Kentucky.

OUTLOOK:

A series of storm systems will move through the Midwest with the first storm
system over the area
Sunday with scattered showers moving east Monday for dry but windy weather
continuing into
Tuesday. Southwest winds at 15 to 30 mph will prevail. The next storm moves
into the area
midweek with showers and northwest winds at 15 to 30 mph. Drier, less windy
and warmer weather
will return Friday before a third storm system moves in Saturday. Relative
humidity will range from
40 to 50 percent during the dry periods. Overnight lows through the week
will be in the mid 20's to
the mid 30's with highs in the 40's and 50's.

Dry weather over the northern half of Florida will continue through midweek
with scattered showers
confined to the southern portions of the state. A storm system passing to
the north of the area later in
the week will spread showers over the northern half of the state with dry
weather in the south. Dry
weather returns to the northern half of the state late in the week, with
scattered showers persisting to
the South. Overnight low temperatures in the north will be in the 40's with
highs in the 60's. Low
temperatures in the south will be in the 50's with highs in the 70's. Winds
will be 5 to 15 mph.
Relative humidity will range from 40 to 60 percent during dry periods.

printed ERG

USDOT has advised that an error exists in the English version of the printed
ERG
on page 360. In the table of water-reactive materials which produce
toxic gases (green-bordered pages), the wrong guide (guide 151) is listed
for dimethyldichlorosilane (ID# 1162). The correct Guide for this material
is 155. It is correctly listed in the ID number index (yellow-bordered
pages, page 29) and the name of material index (blue bordered pages, page
130). This changes the category from substance-toxic (non-combustible) to
substances toxic and/or corrisive (flammable/water sensitive). The
correction has been made to the internet version of the ERG on USDOT's
Office of Hazardous Materials Safety Website:
http://Hazmat.dot.gov/gydebook.htm. USDOT is requesting assistance in
disseminating this information to as many users of the ERG as possible.
This should include fire service, law enforcement, ems, public works, and
others.
