Here in Plant City, FL. at 6:33am on Sunday 9/17/00 the temp. is 68
deg. During the overnight hours with a NE wind we had some modified CPk
air get involved with Hurricane Gordon.
This is beginnng of the trend towards an extratropical system.
Unfortunately this is stoking up the thunderstorms in the main feeder
band on the east side of the storm, along the west coast of Florida and
is increasing the likelyhood of numerous tornadoes. It also increases
the likelyhood of sustained T.S. force winds with gusts to hurricane
force outside of tornadoes, further inland, then would normally be
expected with a cat 1 hurricane center 60-100 miles offshore.
