"A man and a woman died at Kure Beach, N.C., and seven other people were
rescued Tuesday after strong rip currents associated with the hurricane
caught swimmers by surprise. Another man was missing after falling out
of a kayak at Carolina Beach.
The two beaches remained closed Wednesday."
