Airforce Recon found 998mb surface pressures and 64 knot flight level winds
east of the center of TD 10 at 2pm. Based on that into the TPC has upgraded
TD #10 to Tropical Storm Florence 50 knots with gusts to 60 knots.. Still
the same track forecasted though interesting differences in the models on
where to take it. If the
new GFDL model is correct, residents on the coast of NC and SC should begin
preparing for minimal hurricane conditions within 72 hours. This system
appears to have a large envelope and building high
pressure north of the storm may further strengthen it.
