Ronnie: Your report is appreciated as it is helpful to know what is going on
elsewhere. At least you received some rain. I would suppose with this dry
heat that respiratory problems are on the rise among the Texas population. I
have been in 114 degrees both in Oklahoma and Missouri when in the Army. I
hope all is well with you and that problems are being kept at a minimum. We
are having a dry weekend in Southwest Florida but clouds are building with
thunder being heard but lightning not being seen. I believe these clouds are
dissipating as fast as they are building up. We are hopeful that some of
this Gulf weather will result in rain down our way but right now dry weather
is coming up from the Western Caribbean. Richard Macomber-Cape Coral, FL. We
have another ancillary problem: The water is warm 86 degrees F or more. This
is bringing the sharks in closer to where humans are swimming. Bull sharks
are posing a problem. The recent St. Pete case of a fatal shark bite proved
to be that of a bull shark chasing a school of mullet. The victim was only 5
feet away from his dock. Sharks had not been seen in the immediate area for
25 years. People cannot forget Mother Nature both weather-wise or
wildlife-wise. One must stay alert and look around before leaping.
