CESAR Group ALERT 1>>>>>>>>>>> Proprietary Number from 92L to 94L
& Alberto
DATE: 08/08/00
TIME OF NOTICE: 1736 EDT 2136 Z
CG TURN TIME: 0 Hour 45 Min.
CESAR Group CF 80% > 1736 EDT 2136 Z
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

CESAR Group Canada Watch Area Alert: is issuing Alert 1 on 94L and Alberto to
the Northern Lesser Antilles above Lat: 17.5 degrees north which includes
CESAR Group's watch station Puerto Rico Station PR1A as of 1736 EDT 2143 Z.
All NEMA agencies should be aware of a possible convergence of Alberto and NAV
OPS 94L weather Area. These storms are demonstrating development and at the
present time Alberto is moving at 285- 287 degrees and appears a merge is
possible. The CG Team advises that Alberto and this system is creating a
entrench low pressure area that is dragging in weaker low pressure systems
from the south, south-west and east with convergence above 20 degrees north
which could create severe weather conditions by their feeder bands. Presently
the team is observing intense weather cells over Jamaica. Impact from these
low-pressure systems feeding into 94L and Alberto may cause weather anomalies
such as microbursts and therefore damaging winds, heavy rains, tide levels
above normal, rock and mudslides in mountainous regions and the possibility of
Tornadoes.

SPECIAL NOTE: IMAGERY ATTACHED

For additional information, emergency preparedness and procedures refer to
your Caribbean National Emergency Management Agencies, the Local or Regional
Met offices.
