For Sunday, July 16, 2000 and Monday, July 17, 2000
A variety of records were set or tied across the state of Texas
Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
On Sunday, Amarillo set a new record maximum temperature of 104
degrees, replacing the 101 degrees from 1969.
Monday morning, Dallas (DFW) set a record high minimum temperature
with a reading of 82 degrees. This replaced the previous reading of
81 degrees from 1966.
Austin tied their record minimum temperature of 66 degrees. This
reading tied the original record set in 1967. Interesting since
Dallas and Austin or only about 200 miles apart
