A total of five strong thunderstorms moved onshore from the Gulf of Mexico today dumping 6.20 inches of rain here at my home in West Pasco County Florida. Winds in the second storm reached as high as 45 mph sustained for just more than one minute and remained gusty throughout the storm! This occured about the same time the NWS reported the tornado a few miles southeast of me! Frequent cloud to ground lightning struck very close to my home throughout all of the storms. These were the worse storms since the Central Florida Tornado outbreak a few years back! At least it seems so to me! There were at least four lightning strikes within one mile of my home! In each instance I saw the bolt and heard the thunder at the same moment! Sounded like a bomb being set off! It appears to have settled down now! However I remain alert!
