Temple, Texas - July 13, 2000
The afternoon high at my weather station today was
104 degrees. This is the hottest reading at my
station since August 3, 1998 when I recorded 107
degrees (all time station high).
The city of Temple used 22 million gallons of
water yesterday. City policy is that if 21
millions gallons of water is used for three
consecutive days or if 24 million gallons is used
in one day, voluntary water rationing will go into
effect. Its not the lack of water that it is the
problem, it is the ability of the pumps to keep up
with demand.
