Here in Plant City, Fl at 2:00 pm on Friday 7/7/00 I observed the
following:
-----
Temp 93 deg
Wet Bulb 83 deg
Dew point 81 deg
Relative Humidity 68%
Feels Like Temp 128 deg
-----
This is the highest feels like temp. I've seen since 1988.
-----
With the series of shortwaves running over the top of the sfc-500 mb
block and carving out another east coast 500mb trough, the high block
has been shoved west and south, creating onshore westerly flow acros the
peninsula, from the 89 deg gulf waters.
The next cold front/dewpoint discontinuity, whatever it ends up
being, should enhance thunderstorms over the peninsula tonight and
Saturday.
It should then usher in subsidence and drying Sunday over the north
and central peninsula much like the unprecedented event on 7/2 and once
again disrupt our normal rainy season pattern.
