At approximately 2:20pm a Severe Thunderstorm hit my locale in State
College, PA. Very high winds and torrential rains were observed.
The main CASI Weather Station is offline at CASI HQ today so I do not
know what the wind gusts were but I would estimate 40-60 here at work.
It was quite impressive, I almost started having flashbacks to Hurricane
Fran (www.weatherwatchers.org/fran) :)
I may well have gotten a record wind gust but with the weather station
at home offline and the power out, I may never know. Power outages
happened across the city for at least a few minutes.
