Hello everyone,
A busy weekend has kept me from posting this report earlier.
Temperatures went into the 90s Sat & Sun (91 on Sat, 92 on Sun.)
Sunday's high was a daily record, eclipsing the old daily record from
1984 by a degree. Daily records here were kept from 1948, although every
time it gets hot (or cold) the local radio station (the "official" NWS
station), mentions the temp fell by x degrees short of the all time
monthly record. It was the 5th 90 degree day of the season Sun.
Along with the heat came pollution & haze (photo).

.Visibility were 10 miles or so all weekend, & Sat the AQI was a code
orange, the first here this season. Fri & Sun AQI was in the yellow
range.(Tree in background about 1.5 miles away.)
Despite marginal sunshine Monday, temps climbed to 88. The midday heat
index was 96. Dewpoint averaged 71 much of the day. The dawn low of 71
was the 1st 70 degree low of the season. Scattered thunderstorms, from
the instability of the air mass & the nearness of the back door cold
front, moved across the mid Atlantic. A pair of strong storms trekked
ESE through my county, dumping local amounts of .5", generally .1" fell.
I received .08" in about 15 minutes. At 1 point thunder was non stop, &
radio static was one every 10 - 20 seconds.
