Hi Y'all!
As Bennett said below, it was hot here in DC today. I had a high of 101 degrees today and a high of 99 yesterday. Last night at Midnight, it was still 82 degrees out, and is just as warm now at 1 am. Both days were Code Red for Ozone, and we've been under a heat advisory since Friday (which was Code Orange). UUUUUKY weather, and yours truly stayed indoors as much as possible, because of my asthma and medication warning me against direct sunlight.
We're supposed to see some relief tomorrow afternoon as that front up north drops down over us, but I expect to see some severe storms out of it, as hot as we are. Tuesday is supposed to be rainy, with a high of 76 degrees!! I'll take it!! My Mom in Wilmington, NC, told me tonight that they were cooler than we were--they were in the low 80's with an on-shore breeze blowing. Hmm, maybe it's time for another road trip. Will be back down there for the 4th of July. After Tuesday's cool and rainy, it's supposed to be in the mid-80's for the rest of the week, edging up to around 90 towards the weekend. As long as it's not 100's, I'll live with it.
I have a couple of prayer requests for sick family members for y'all (for those who pray)--and I'm still keeping all the other requests that have been posted recently on my prayer list.
My Aunt Gloria, 44 years old, had a heart-attack last night--she lives across the road from my parents--and because my Uncle was at work and couldn't leave right away, so my folks rushed her to the hospital--which is 20 miles away. My dad, who could give a turtle lessons in slow, was doing 90, and passing deer standing at the edge of the road--Mom was glad that they didn't try and jump in the middle of the road. Mom said that the doctors started doing tests, and discovered that she'd had a previously undetected attack, and the artery involved had 100% blockage and there was dead heart tissue around it. Not good. Another artery was 90% closed, and another two were 70% closed, and one of them was the culprit for this new attack. They did an angioplasty on the arteries, but are still running tests to determine their course of action. Needless to say, she's in CCU and isn't out of the woods yet. There may be by-pass surgery in the offing, as well as the possibility of heart replacement surgery, and major
lifestyle changes, like quitting smoking and eating better. She'll need lots of prayers.
The second request is for my brother Scott in Charlotte, NC. He's having foot surgery this week to have a cyst removed from his right foot. Because of this surgery, he'll be out of work for at least 6 weeks, longer if the cyst is on the ligament and they have to remove the ligament. He'll be in a cast up to his knee, and on crutches, making him unable to drive, much less work. My nephew, who's in the Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA, is using some of his leave to come and stay with his Dad, as my sister-in-law has to work, as does my niece, who still lives at home. We're hoping and praying that the cyst DOESN'T involve the ligament, because that would mean that he'd be at least 3 or 4 months in a cast and out of work. I don't know anyone who can afford to be off work that long.
Thanks for the prayers--they're appreciated. Now send some cooler weather my way, please!! :-D

Subject: Re: [STORMREPORTS] Hello from Dallas Texas
The high temperature in the Nation's Capital is 97 degrees (so far), but
here in Upper Northwest we've only reached 91 degrees. But we're trying.
