On Wednesday 5/24/00 with a west wind, subsidence and rising 500 mb
heights, high temps. in the mid and upper 90's were recorded in inland
cental and east coast area's of central Florida. 100 deg. plus readings
are expected over the weekend. I only saw 91 deg. here in Plant City due
to the cooling effect of the west coast onshore flow.
My gut instinct tells me I'll be reporting on excessive rainfall
later in the summer. CASI member Anna of the western N.C. mountains has
agreed to send some Cherokee Indians southward to conduct a rain dance.
