First of all, my apologies for the earlier blank message...pushed the wrong
button.
A tornado struck along the Hill/Bosque line around 6:30 p.m. this evening.
This area is about 50 miles to my NNW. Three fatalities and numerous
injuries along with significant property damage are being reported by the
local news media. Early reports based on amateur video and preliminary
damage investigation are classifying the tornado as F3 to F4.
The storm that spawned this tornado moved into the Temple/Belton/Killeen
area around 8 p.m. with unconfirmed funnel clouds being reported through
out the area. Sirens in both Belton and Temple were activated.
The brunt of this storm moved to the west of my location and with the
earlier reports of the severity of the storm and not being real anxious to
chase in the dark, I kept my distance. So the first hand report and photos
will be somewhat lacking.
The line of storms have cleared the area and moved off to the south and
east of the area. A storm report and link to photos will be posted later.
