Hello all,
The 73rd Shenadoah Apple Blossom Festival was held this past
weekend in Winchester VA. It attracts bands, celebrities, & fire trucks
from across the nation. Our town grows from a normal population of
26,000 to a quarter million.
It was hotter than normal, [85 Friday, 88 Saturday, and 89 Sunday]. The
heat caused about 3 dozen people to be treated at the aide stations set
up along the 1.5 mile parade route. That total is lower than sever years
ago when it was 95 and several hundred were treated, but higher than the
average year when perhaps a dozen are seen.
The only rain came Fri, when a quick thundershower brought .14" a couple
hours before the Firefighters Parade.

A small cluster of thunderstorms formed in the WV mountains at sunset.
This one is about 50 miles to my SW, and at 10pm a warning was issued
for it. {it's faint}

The severe thunderstorm moves to within 25 miles of my location,
although i heard the thunder on the closer strikes (maybe 15 miles
away). The storm was reported to have large hail in the Lindon VA area
[where I-66 crosses the Blue Ridge Mnts]. This vidcap was taken at
11:30pm Sun. {much brighter}

The storm quickly fell apart once it reached the piedmont around
12:30am.
