Hello everyone,
One of the bad things about spring is pollen. It has been so thick, it
actually shows up on radar. A Washington DC tv meteorologist
suggested that the pollen was on radar Monday in the advance of a
frontal passage.The pollen was noted several hours before the rain
reached the area. Only a .10" of rain fell here, and a few hundredths in
the Washington DC area.
Anyway the pollen is still noted tonight on the radar screen. Their is a
light southeast breeze, humidity about 45%, and nary a cloud in the sky.
The image was from 7pm Wed & is a radar still from Sterling (Wash DC)
and from the Intellicast site.

Locally, the pollen count in my hometown was 2248 Monday, & 1520
Tuesday. The pollen count was not broadcast by the local radio station
the last couple days , so i have to wait a day for the new readings from
the newspaper. Although high, the largest # i seen was in the 9000 range
several years ago.
With the taste of 80 degrees upon us again, the walnut tree is the last
tree to begin blooming in my yard. [Others began as early as Feb].

The temp rose to 77 from a morning low of 45 on Wed. There was a few
wisps of cirrus, but otherwise cloudless.
The first heat wave of the season is due this weekend. Temperatures are
forecast to be near 90 from Sat to Mon. That will coincide with our
annual spring ritual, the Shenadoah Apple Blossom Festival, that
includes the world's longest Firefighter's Parade, the nations 3rd
longest Grand Feature Parade [only behind Macys & Tournament of Roses]
The 1st events began Wed and the bulk happen Fri - Sun. A quarter
million people will visit, and no motel rooms are available within 40
