Hello everyone,

The main storm hit about 12:30pm, that had lightning once every 45
seconds, some of it within 1000'. The storms had no wind to speak of,
but rain was another story. The midday storm dumped .5" in about 25
minutes. Our area was spared a severe thunderstorm watch, but the SPC
had one in affect several hours for the counties just east of me, east
to the Chesapeake Bay.

Sky was generally cloudy today, but partly sunny 3-5pm. Showers &
thunderstorms brought the total storm event to 1.01", and the monthly
precip is at 3". The high (midnight) was 63, the evening low 40.

This home under construction in Waldorf MD (a southern Wash DC suburb)
blew apart in the wind. Although the area was under a tornado warning,
the NWS prelimanary said it was a microbust. No other homes in the
neighborhood received significant damage.
