Hello everyone,
Pardon my absence, but I was busy revamping the list that I moderate
(VA_StormNet). I added warnings & NWS forecast products to this list,
courtesy of Weatherguys.com. Also, I changed the text of the "charter"
and signature file that ends each message.
On to "ancient" weather, from Sunday 4/16. A thunderstorm passed to
within 4 miles of my location. It produced occasional lightning (once
every minute or two), and hail from pea to marble size. A swath of .5"
of rain fell in it's path.
The lightning knock out several traffic lights & fried a secondary
police radio frequency. There were a few power outages in the hour long
storm.
At my location, we barely had rain (30 seconds), but no close lightning
& a pwg of 11 mph.

With a high 81 on Sunday, & humidity, it felt like 83. The cold front
arrived about 2am Monday. The daytime temp Mon fell thru the 50s, and on
Tue the temp hovered in the low 40s. With a breeze, the windchill was
around freezing throughout the day.
Rain fell at times Mon, and most of the day Tue. When it ended, just
over an inch had fallen.

And today, for the first day this week, we had seasonable temps, & for
only the 2nd day this week, we had sun. But what had been a partly sunny
day, clouded over about 4pm. A high of 68, a low of 41.

I will likely not post Thur, or if i do it will be late night. That's
because the yard needs mowed, and Thur will be the only dry day the rest
of this week. Thunderstorms are likely Friday, & may linger Sat.
If any modertor or list owner would be interested in setting up an
automated warning or forecast system for their lists, you may use
http://weatherguys.com. They have one requirement: THEY MUST NOT GET
MAIL FROM THE LIST. I found out the hard way. On Monday, after i
activated the account, i forgot to reset their status to "no mail". They
received some 3 dozen warnings & forecasts back. They did not like that
& revoked the account. {I had reset the status about 4am Tue, but the
messages had already been set. I made amends with them, & the list is
now receiving them again.
Also, i would suggest setting up a specific type of warning [tornados or
hurricanes], ect <or> to a specific region or state, such as my list-
