HA HA HA--I guess the joke's on me!! When I wrote my below post (at 3 am EDT), it was still raining out.

GUESS WHAT?!?!?! IT did SNOW!!! I guess sometime before dawn, and a little after, the temp had dropped to 32 degrees here, and when I woke up at 8 am to get ready for my morning class (don't ask), I looked out and saw a dusting of snow everywhere!!! Boy was I surprised. My cherry tree out front is in full bloom and there was snow on the ground and on the cars in the parking lot out front. (I did take a picture or two with that angle--hope they turn out!!) The snow's still too early for my birthday, though, which is Sat. the 15th. Oh well, missed it by a week again. Maybe next year.

Been really breezy here today--like yesterday only colder. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WIND-CHILL HERE!!!! BRRRRRR!!!!! It actually got up to 55 degrees today, so the snow was gone by the time I got out of my morning class. I did see one intrepid soul with a neat 3-tiered kite, but he was having a bit of trouble controlling it. Too breezy for a kite in my opinion.

Well, it was quite a day. My high today was 83 and sunny, before the front moved through, and as of a half-hour ago, it was 38 outside. QUITE a change--almost 50 degrees!! Had .51 inches of rain. Not a lot, in spite of impressive-looking radar earlier today--looked like it was going to tear up Jake--but no go. It's still raining lightly, but we had no thunder or lightning today. It sure was windy earlier, though--the wind kept rattling the screens against the storm windows, and we think one of our recycle bins blew away (either that, or the two-legged rats got to it). Using ol' Beaufort's scale, the gusts were in the 40-50 mph range, and the constant wind was around 20-30 mph. NOT a good day for kites--unless you want them treed!!

I wouldn't mind a few snow flakes now, as it's snowing west of me, but I'd rather have them a week from now. Next Saturday is my birthday, and I've always wanted a little snow for my birthday. I've missed it by a week either way, but I keep wishing!! :-D
