Hello all,
With a stiff southwest downslopping breeze (which became northwest a few
hours ago), we warmed rapidly from a low of 40.5 to an afternoon high
79.5.
Winds have averaged 20 to 30mph, w/ a pwg of 37 mph about 6:30pm.
At the airport, peak sustained wind was 29mph, a pwg gust of 42 mph. The
airport high was 82.
Fire danger is high, and fire fighters & foresters are on a "red flag
alert" thru Friday because outside fires can spread rapidly.

Also, SNOW in Winchester
Well at least there was 10 years ago tonight. Looking at my records, we
had about an inch in town, 2-4" rural areas. Up to a foot fell up the
Shenadoah Valley near Harrisionburg (70 miles to my south).

Back before i had access to the internet, i would position the camera to
look out my window underneath a street lamp.
