Here in Danville, Pa, I enjoyed the tranquillity of an unusual "Snowball
Storm"! Around 8:45 AM, the area was inundated by miniature snowballs (or
snow "dumplings"?!?!). They made an interesting sound as they disintegrated
on top of my hard hat at work. I'm not a meteorologist, but I suspect that
the upper layers of the atmosphere were cold enough to create snow crystals
and they melted and became wet snowball as they fell.
Any comments??
