Hi Anna: I checked the climat for Asheville on Buckeye server and they don't
put up the total precip for the year but Knoxville(TYS) and Tri-cities(TRI)
both give the data you want and they aren't very far away.

click Tennessee on the map. Look in the climate section and click on
Climate Summary ( Knoxville-Tri-cities).
Also if you want daily precip for about 200 sites around your area including
Mt. Mitchell, New port and Gatlinburg then go to this TVA site.
