Central Texas got off to a crisp start this morning as the morning low at
my station just south of Temple dropped to 38 degrees. There was frost on
vegetation in surrounding pastures and those who left their vehicles parked
in the open had to scrape ice off their windshields. Temperatures for the
first four days of April have averaged 10.7 degrees below normal as opposed
to 7 degrees above normal for January, 9.3 degrees above normal for
February and 4.3 degrees above normal for March. Temperatures for the first
three months of the year have averaged 6.9 degree above normal.
