Here in Plant City we received a puny 0.11" of rain this late morning,
the remnants of the large scale precipitation system over the deep south
yesterday. It sure is hard to get a substantial rain during a drought,
duuhh!
The culprit in our drought is the La Nina induced upper ridge that has
persisted over the Florida area since mid February. I just hope our
drought doesn't spread into the mid Atlantic region again like last
year, probable!
The big news in Florida will be the short lived cool weather.
Temperatures should dip into the mid 60's/30's range over north and
upper 60's/40's over central, down from days of upper 80's/60's.
