Hello all,
Rain arrived at 8:30am Sat, & briefly was a t-storm at 9am w/
moderate rain. I heard several rumbles of thunder, and there was an
average of 3 strikes a minute w/ the lightning static on the am radio.
The rain eased for several hours at midday, and began again about 4pm.
Around 7:30pm, a thunderstorm moved in from the southwest.
Lightning was moderate at my location, but frequent on the am radio. The
storm produced about 1 minute of pea size hail.
I heard other reports of pea size hail here in NW VA, as well as metro
Washington DC.
The only reports of severe weather came from Norfolk VA (3/4"
hail) and in SE VA (wind damage).
The rain is easing now (3:30am Sun), and the total so far is 1.16".
