Looks like it was worse away from HQ... on the way to work I stopped at
a gas station, and had the tank half full when I saw two blue followed
by pink explosions about 1/4 mile away, heard loud buzzes, and the
lights went out.

They came back on, but the gas pumps had rebooted and had stopped
pumping gas. Because of the reboot I could no longer pay at the pump
and went inside, but the outage (which happened again while inside) had
caused the pump readouts to fail inside so we all had to go back outside
and read our pumps :)

So at this point I think we can say "scattered power problems" in Centre
county. :)
