Today is the 15th anniversary of the coldest weather in North Carolina in
my lifetime. According to a "newspaper" I produced for the family on Jan.
21, 1985 (I was 11 ;)):

Wilmington NC : +5
Mount Mitchell NC : -34

Boomer is my Mom's house in NW NC. I think that the Mount Mitchell low was
their record and stands to this day.
