During yesterday afternoon the 21st dew points dipped to the upper
single digits to low teens over northern areas and low to mid teens over
inland central areas. With clear skies and dead calm winds minimum
temperatures would have fallen much lower. However beginning around 2:00
am a high level cirrostratus deck moved in over northern areas and
broken cirrus deck moved in over central areas, halting the temperature
fall. I misjudged the timing of this cloud deck which is moving in ahead
of the next storm system, which promises the best chance of widespread
precipitation in many weeks.
