Last night just around 11pm a severe storm developed over the western
part of Lake Ponchartrain, the storm then moved over downtown New
Orleans and dropped golf ball sized hail, the hail was reported in New
Orleans, Metarie, and St. Benard. Their was wide spread damage to
windows on homes and businesses, and dents and broken windows on
vehicles. I did not get any hail were i live, but their were reports of
hail in the city in which i live in. No one was injured but i tell you,
looking at the footage on the news it was a awsome sight, looked like
something you would see in the plain states, but not in downtown New
Orleans, goes to show you that a severe storm can occur in rural areas
as well as a major city.
