Blizzard-like conditions continue to prevail. Snow on the ground is dense
and quite moist. Optimal for snow balls and the like. Depths appear to
range from 8-10" with observed drifts as deep as 18-24". Driving
conditions are below minimum in the absence of significant plowing.
Snowfall reduces visibility sharply, but extends to perhaps a mile. Wind
gusts hamper this and episodically reduce the visibility to around a half
mile. Walked about one mile, round trip, and conditions are rather
difficult even at a walk. Wind chills are around 0 F against a base
temperature of 28 F. No let-up in sight.

"...once war is forced upon us, there is no alternative than to apply every
available means to bring it to a swift end. War's very object is victory -
not prolonged indecision. In war, indeed, there can be no substitute for victory."
General Douglas MacArthur Supreme Commander, U.N. Forces, 1951
