I'm a bit late, we here in Columbia SC got somewhere between 4-8
inches of snow....depending where you were. Parts of Newberry County
got 8 as did Union 8-10 and Lancaster county. Up until it changed
very abruptly to snow we had had 1.75 inches of rain! If that had
ALLL been snow...ah well uh...
I was at the weather bureau running a very informal snow net...on the
ham repeaters. And then when I left at 7:30 the I found the wind had
drifted the snow on the BACK of the truck about 5+ inches and filled
the bed. It's normally a 2 mile trip. The police had blocked off the
steeeeeep hill I'd go down. So....it ended up being a 8 mile
trip....at 10 to 15 MPH in blowing snow. Met no dummies so I had no
problem unlike lots of people.
The STATE let their workers...ALL of them off at # PM. SUPER
gridlock, some people actually ran out of gas!
17 this morning as I rode to work. Still a lot of snow, especially in
shaded areas. MOST roads are clear.
Just getting over the New Year's flu, so I didn't play in it, nor
take pictures.
NOW we wait.
