The coldest air of the new winter season finally made its way into North Georgia. After a morning low of 22°, the high yesterday reached 41° at 11:52 A.M. just ahead of a cold front pushing its way into the state. The temp quickly fell to 37° by 12:30 P.M. with strong NW winds gusting to 30 mph and snow flurries flying in the sky. Overnight last night the temp fell to a season low temperature of 16° which beat out the previous season low of 20° back on Dec. 1, 1999. The temps are not expected to get out of the 30's today and it seems that thats a logical forecast since at the current time of 1:10 P.M. the temp is at its high so far of 36° and very, very slowly climbing. Some of the reported low temps for this morning around North Georgia and N.W. South Carolina were as follows...:
