Greenwich, New York Thunderstorm - August 12, 2003

WeatherMatrix Member Jeffrey Sharts snapped this lightning photo during a late-night thunderstorm on August 12, 2003. Jeff's location on the radar image is shown by the red star; the storm he was photographing was the large one to his south-southeast on the radar image below. An official lightning strike image is also shown.

Jeff says: "This picture was shot here in Greenwich, NY August 12th 2003 at around 11:15PM. I took it when I saw this thing throwing some decent lightning, wouldn't have known if I didn't see radar on TV :)".
